“I am looking to put together an animation...”
You came to the right place! As a 2D/3D animator and rich media developer, all projects are produced through my company, Framework Media. If you have a technical animation or interactive project you would like to discuss, you may want to review our animation portfolio first, and then use the contact form to get the process started.
“I heard you wrote something interesting about ______.…”
I really doubt this is the case, as I have found out that even on a good day my writing isn't particularly interesting and on a bad day it is barely coherent. If you still don't believe me, your best bet would be to look through my blog.
“You did some software training for us…”
I have done and still do Adobe software training, mostly to corporate clients. Right now I am available directly to teach custom classes in Adobe Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and Autodesk 3ds max. What seems to have worked best (with Flash especially) is a full- or half-day session on site at your location, covering topics by working on your current projects and needs, but I can also put together custom course content. Another popular request is to do a half-day session of “What’s new with CS4?” to quickly get up to speed on new features. Contact me via this handy form!
“I have your resume right here in front of me.”
That is probably one dusty resume. I am currently open to connecting for project-based work, but nothing direct or full time, as I fear that level of commitment. Of particular interest for me would be New England-based game design companies, as I am always interested in keeping up with the latest techniques.
“Is this the Joel Howe that I went to high school/college/band camp with?”
If you went to high school in Western Massachusetts back in the 1980’s or college in upstate New York, there is a good chance that’s me. Sadly, I never did go to band camp. Look me up on Facebook if you are a personal friend and if you are a business acquaintance, please consider connecting with me at LinkedIn. If you are both of these, feel free to do both! There isn’t too much difference between the two profiles, but I leave all of the bad puns and potty humor out of the LinkedIn profile.
